Vested

Hi everyone, I hope you had a fantastic weekend!
Last week I received this gorgeous vest from YesStyle and quickly fell in love with it. The vest fits perfectly, is super cozy and so versatile that it literally goes with everything in my wardrobe.
Since the vest is the centerpiece of the outfit, I paired it with a simple long sleeve and leather skirt to bring out the warm hues. The combination of orange, plum and brown creates such a beautiful colorway!

What I love most about this vest is its loose-fit structure, it is also reversible for a fun twist – such a chic vest that instantly adds a sophisticated edge to any outfit. I think it's safe to say that I've found my new favorite vest!

Weekend Freeze :: Faux Fur & Hot Pink

Happy Friday!
Oh boy is it cold today, and snowing too! And here we thought spring was in the horizon. Luckily I didn’t put away my furry hat yet, on days like this I like to keep my head warm.
Many of you have asked me where we are going on our vacation. We are heading South to visit family and to attend a wedding, so we are splitting our time between GA and FL. Can't wait to share packing tips as well as beautiful scenic photos with you ladies soon. We are all packed and ready to go, March 3rd can't come soon enough!

Pastels :: Peach Skirt & Gray Blazer

Today I am sporting a Spring outfit to lift my spirit because I am 9 days away from vacation and it is just so hard to focus on anything else! Soft pastel colors are so soothing to the eyes and reminds me of Creamsicles we use to enjoy as kids.
Both the blazer and skirt are recent purchases from H&M. At $19.95 and $17.95 respectively and with 15% off using THIS COUPON, both items were a steal. I love the cut as well as the color of the blazer and the sparkly peach skirt is just perfect to welcome Spring!
Oh and did you notice my new hair cut =) After talking about cutting my hair for 2 years hubby got sick of hearing me say it and told me to just go do it, so I did. And I got bangs...
Everyone says I look even younger now than I did before which brings me to about the age of 12. Fine by me, I think I'll go grab myself a Creamsicle now!

Note: Both items mentioned above are still in stores as of yesterday if you ladies are interested. Just print out THIS H&M 15% OFF COUPON and head on over =) Have fun!

What are some places you'd love to visit?

Hippie Headband

I love hippie headbands! They're just so charming. These headbands are an ultimate outfit upgrade on those days you don't fee like piling on a bunch of jewelry but still want to look boho-chic - just pop on one of these gems and you're golden.
In the 1960's headbands in a multitude of styles were popular amongst hippies. Hippies wore them mostly in a ninja style around the crown of their head. Small but mighty, these little babies pack a style punch and add impact to any outfit. Whatever color or embellishment you choose; this look will give you a delicate yet edgy look.
Here are some tips and tricks to rock these headbands without suffering from "weird hair syndrome:"
  1. Thin or Thick: Thin ones give off a flirty flower child vibe while thick ones make a bold statement.
  2. Placement: The popular way is to wear them across the forehead but I like to wear them a couple inches from my hairline to give it a more natural look and to keep my ears from poking out.
  3. Simple or Fancy: Both styles are great but make sure to accessorize appropriately, you don't want to have a busy headband AND a busy outfit.
  4. Hair Texture: Headbands can be worn with all types of hairstyle - straight, wavy, curly or updo.
  5. Loosen it up: Make sure your headband is not too tight as that can cause headaches, find one that ties in the back so that it can be adjusted.
  6. Improvise: You can turn many things into headbands such as necklaces, wrap bracelets, belts.
With so many ways to wear headbands today, everyone can use this chic, cute accessory to complement any wardrobe, style or personality! I hope these tips and tricks were helpful to you.

Weekend Glam :: Soft Chambray

Happy Friday everyone!
Taken individually, each of the items I am wearing today would be so far from glamorous but I love the end result. It is this kind of creativity that sparks the imagination of graduates with degrees from fashion design
schools
. I really adore the look of glamor paired with a casual vibe. I think I've worn this chambray shirt enough times to be able to call it my own. I don't think Hubby has worn it at all since he bought it =)

The kids have winter break next week but unfortunately I still have work and school so we might do a weekend trip since Monday is a holiday. If we do end up going somewhere I will do a quick "What to pack for a short trip" entry to share with you ladies =) Enjoy the rest of your day!

Ribbon Sweater

Hi everyone!
I have to confess that I have a weak spot for ribbons. I fell in love with this cardigan when I first saw it in stores but couldn’t decide if I should get it. Lucky for me I snagged one during their winter sale for $7! I love the juxtaposition of knits and ribbons – they add just the right amount of flair to create a Parisian-meets-bohemian look.
As some of you may know I am hitting the home stretch with law school, this is my LAST semester. I am still working full-time, taking 4 classes, and trying to wrap my head around this whole application and preparation process for the upcoming bar exam in July. Please accept my advance apology as I may be a day or two late on visiting and commenting on everyone's blog!

Texturizing

Hi everyone! If only these pants were red I would be so ready for Valentine's day =)
Regardless, here's a texture filled look I wore recently to go eat sushi and frozen yogurt. Yes, you heard me right, we went to eat frozen yogurt in the freezing cold. That's how we deal with the disappointment that winter is still 6 weeks away as per the groundhog's foresight!
Needless to say we are heading to GA/FL in 3 weeks so I am super excited to start packing. Have a great Monday everyone!

5 Things

Friday is finally here, 5pm can't come soon enough. 5 things on my mind:
{Vase of peonies}

Out of the abundance of flowers out there, peonies are my favorite. With their lush, full, rounded bloom, peonies embody romance and prosperity and are regarded as an omen of good fortune and a happy marriage.

{Collection of homemade cards}

Normally we buy pre-made Valentine's day cards for Charlotte's classmates but this year we are embarking upon a more creative route - homemade cards.

{Heart candies}

Valentine's Day is not the same without these fun heart shaped candies. Even if they are too sweet to eat you can still create homemade centerpieces out of them. This whimsical table decor will be the showpiece of the party, whether you are hosting an intimate dinner for two or a bash for all of your friends.
{Tray of macaroons}

If you wish to break free of traditional gift ideas for the upcoming Valentine's Day, there is no finer box of sweets to send than a box of macaroons. You can even learn to make your own with classes from online pastry schools.

What are we doing this Valentine's Day you ask? We are going to go watch Titanic in 3D of course! What could be better =) What are your plans for Valentine's Day?
