Cherished as symbols of purity and perfection, elegance and affluence, pearls are unusual gems, created inside mollusks. Occurring naturally in a wide range of sizes, shapes, and colors, pearls have long captured the attention of scientists as well as socialites.

People all around the world have fashioned beautiful jewelry out of natural pearls until the early 20^th century when the discovery of induced pearl formation led to the introduction of cultured pearls to the global market. Today pearls are more widely available and unmatched in their beauty and splendor.

These ladylike gems are essential for year-round glamour but their clean lines also makes them ideal for everyday wear as well. They can be worn in many ways: bundled around the neck for a trendy look, beaded in gowns, worn in hair-dos, or kept simple with a pair of pearl stud earrings.
