PFC #15: Chic Pin-spiration

This month’s Petite Fashion Challenge is hosted by Long Live Classy.
The Challenge: Find a pic of an outfit you love on Pinterest, and re-create it the best way possible!
 I fell "head of heels" in love with this Pinterest photo and knew that I wanted to replicate it one day. Unfortunately I was unable to find a mint peplum top that I liked so I wore my mint chiffon blouse instead.
With temperatures continuing to rise, this spring is the perfect time to flirt with the lace trend especially when paired with a mint top, the color of choice this season.
 Dress these shorts up, or pair them with a tee for a more casual approach. These are the bottoms that will really take you from day to night instantaneously!
I usually pin travel and home decor photos on Pinterest but once in a while I will find an outfit that I cannot get out of my head. This is one of them and I was super-excited to get the chance to replicate it today =)

Hope you enjoyed my 4th PFC. Check out my last one HERE. Thank you Long Live Classy for hosting! Be sure to check out the rest of the Petite Fashion Challenge participants listed over at Long Live Classy.

Comfort is Key

Hi everyone, I've missed you guys!
Due to studying for Finals, I've been sitting around all week shifting in and out of uncomfortable chairs at the library, the school must use them to keep students awake. My ultimate goal is to stay as comfortable as possible therefore I've been choosing breathable outfits with multiple layers to  keep up with the changing temperatures in the library.
When it comes to comfort and versatility, nothing can compare to a sweater wrap. Part blanket, part sweater, a wrap is ideal for travel, running errands, lounging around or in my case to study it. It gives you that chic and put-together look without much time or effort. Time of which I don't have and no energy to put much effort into anything...

In any case, Spring is in the air and the weather has been pretty nice around here, hopefully it is as beautiful wherever you are. Enjoy it ladies and if you can, please stop and smell the flowers for me =)

As I reminisce about my life on vacation I thought I’d share some photos from Instagram. I really wish I was still in sunny FL!

Posting might be a little sparse over the next few weeks, but just think of the marvelous time I'll be having studying for Finals, wrapping up bar applications and prepping for graduation which is a little over a month away...

Happy Thursday and see you soon!

Beautiful Braids

This Spring I am loving everything with braids, pleats or plaits in them especially when it comes to hairdos! Below are some of the hottest braid trends this season.
:: Adorn with accessories ::
It's easy to give your braids a little extra something with ribbons, flowers, bows, and any other accessories you can think of. This creation is perfect for weddings or tea parties.

:: Romantic waterfall ::
This cascade braid style recently exploded as the new "trend braid" of the season. The waterfall effect looks cool and complex, and always remind me of Rapunzel. It's a soft, detailed and romantic look that can be worn on a casual date or to a more elegant dinner party.
:: Mussed-up fishtail ::
The fishtail braid is such a popular trend this year. I absolutely adore this sea-inspired style. To give your otherwise intricate braid a beachy-chic edge, loosen the braid and take out some strands after you finish.

:: Hair as headband ::
Who needs a headband when you can make one from your hair! I love this European Heidi-inspired front braid that you can style into an updo or wear with your hair down, the possibilities are just endless.

Which one is your favorite?

Weekend Comfort :: Hot Pink & Forsythia

Happy Friday everyone!
I've always wanted to experience the Spring cherry blossoms in DC but the festival and blooming schedule always fall right smack in the middle of Finals study period. So these forsythia are the next best thing =)
Right now I am loving these hot pink trousers. Not only are they fun and comfortable to lounge around in but they are also perfect for a night out as well. For a more sophisticated look I would recommend pairing them with a top that is more structured and intricate. Otherwise for a casual demeanor I just roll the hems up a few times to create that relaxed look.
Another fool proof trick to keeping it casual is by gently tucking in the front corner of your blouse. This helps achieve that asymmetrical draping effect - don't you just love it when small tricks like this makes everything look better =)

Blooming :: Tulip Dress

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great week so far!
One of the trend that is currently blooming with sensuality and zest is the tulip dress. The tulip dress got its name because it takes on the shape of an inverted tulip - fitted at the waist and balloons at the hip. As such it creates a shape that is forgiving to people with a heavier midsection and create curves for those with a less shapely figure.
Most tulip dresses have wrapped drapings at the bottom but this one just has a blooming pocket on the side giving it a more modern flair. I love how captivating this dress is with its simple structure and bright turquoise hue.
Tulip dresses makes for a great investment piece as they can be worn for a night out in town or incorporated into your work wardrobe simply by pairing it with a tailored blazer. Talk about an effortlessly chic piece!

Coral Crush :: A Lulus.com Review

Hi everyone! I'm back with another Lulus.com review =)
One of the hottest trends this season are Grecian-style dresses – not only do they look flattering on almost any shape they are a perfect canvas for accessories. Therefore I was super excited when Lulu*s sent me this gorgeous Blaque Label Aeriform Strapless Coral Dress to review.
I love this modern Grecian style piece - the asymmetrical structure keeps it feminine and the ruched sweetheart neckline and soft pleats are a work of art. Not only is this dress versatile and can be worn with or without a belt, the coral palette alone is attention grabbing in the best way possible, especially when you accessorize with gold, blue, and turquoise jewels that can stand up to the bold hue!
What I love most about Lulu*s is that whether you are attending a casual wedding that calls for something a little grand or looking for a rehearsal dinner or after-party frock, there are dresses in every style and at all price points to choose from. But don't just take my word for it, hop on over to Lulus.com and check it out for yourself. And if you happen to see something you like simply use code "JUSTTUTUTINY" at check out for 15% off your total purchase (code is case-sensitive).
