Step into Spring with Cobalt Blue

Tunic :: H&M (similar here)
  Faux Leather Shorts :: H&M (similar here)
Open-toed Wedges :: Aldo (similar here)
Clutch :: Coach "Karla" Special Edition Clutch (splurge here)
Necklace :: H&M (similar here)

Spring is in the air and if you're looking to add a bit of color to your wardrobe then look no further than cobalt blue. Unlike red, this intense color makes a statement without being brash therefore is a great alternative for those warm Spring days. These deep blues pop against white and are rich and sophisticated with black. Here I paired a silk tunic with faux leather shorts and added a cascade of silver to soften up the look and blend it all in. Purists should embrace it in its most vibrant form, while those who are color-shy can start of with a dainty clutch or sculpted heels. With its cool undertones, cobalt complements every complexion. Have fun and happy Spring!

Texturizing

Hi everyone! If only these pants were red I would be so ready for Valentine's day =)
Regardless, here's a texture filled look I wore recently to go eat sushi and frozen yogurt. Yes, you heard me right, we went to eat frozen yogurt in the freezing cold. That's how we deal with the disappointment that winter is still 6 weeks away as per the groundhog's foresight!
Needless to say we are heading to GA/FL in 3 weeks so I am super excited to start packing. Have a great Monday everyone!

Pearls, Pearls, Pearls

If diamonds are a girl's best friend than pearls must be our soul mates! Fashion icons such as Coco Chanel, Elizabeth Taylor, and Audrey Hepburn all had an affinity for pearls. Now it's our turn to channel our inner fashion icon in a modern way.
Cherished as symbols of purity and perfection, elegance and affluence, pearls are unusual gems, created inside mollusks. Occurring naturally in a wide range of sizes, shapes, and colors, pearls have long captured the attention of scientists as well as socialites.
People all around the world have fashioned beautiful jewelry out of natural pearls until the early 20th century when the discovery of induced pearl formation led to the introduction of cultured pearls to the global market. Today pearls are more widely available and unmatched in their beauty and splendor.
These ladylike gems are essential for year-round glamour but their clean lines also makes them ideal for everyday wear as well. They can be worn in many ways: bundled around the neck for a trendy look, beaded in gowns, worn in hair-dos, or kept simple with a pair of pearl stud earrings.
