Urban Light :: Beige Romper + Nude Sandals

Romper :: Macy's (similar and current fave here)
 Sandals :: Steve Madden Nude Sandals (similar here
Belt :: H&M (similar here)
Necklace :: H&M (similar here)

Since its installation in 2008, Urban Light has become a visual icon of Los Angeles. Standing in front of LACMA, Urban Light consists of 202 restored cast-iron street lamps, most of which used to light the streets of Southern California. Artist Chris Burden began collecting street lamps in 2000 ranging from 20 to 30 feet tall, there are a total of 17 different lamp styles. This iconic and abstract piece of art is one of the city’s most photographed sites. It was stunningly beautiful up close with its elaborate geometric patterns and exuberant glow. To stand out amongst the uniform grey sculpture I chose a beige palette attire for a sleek appeal and feminine look. Rompers are sizzling on the trend report this season. It is probably one of the most effortless ways to throw on a one-piece outfit and make it look fashionable. They're extremely versatile and can work for day with a blazer and belt or jazzed up for night with heels and statement jewelry. Because they don't require separate coordination, they'll do in a pinch when you're short on time. Just accessorize to accomplish the look you want - from casual to chic. Rompers are fun, flirty and a fashion favorite this season.

Disney Concert Hall :: Asymmetric Top + Abstract Heels

 Top :: H&M (splurge here)
  Shorts :: H&M (similar here)
Sandals :: Fergie Torcha (here
Clutch :: American Apparel (similar here)
Belt :: Express (similar here)

Walt Disney Concert Hall became a Los Angeles icon the moment it opened its doors to the public in 2003. The concert hall was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank Gehr and what a majestic piece of architecture it is. The building looks like a piece of music in mid-flow and since the exterior is silver it reflects blue from the sky so much so that you can't tell where the building ends and the sky starts. In keeping with this timeless structure I wanted to create an equally timeless pairing that is both comfortable and chic. The asymmetric top paired with these skirt-like shorts gives this overall outfit a relaxed look. I greatly appreciate the minimalistic look of these abstract heels. It's clean, simple and surprisingly comfortable and really adds another dimension to this outfit. Asymmetric dresses and tops are great ways to add an arty vibe to your outfit, they can be worn over skinny jeans and leggings and can often be a great way to camouflage a tummy. Most definitely a girl's best friend for those all-you-can-eat buffet sessions!

Step into Spring with Cobalt Blue

Tunic :: H&M (similar here)
  Faux Leather Shorts :: H&M (similar here)
Open-toed Wedges :: Aldo (similar here
Clutch :: Coach "Karla" Special Edition Clutch (splurge here)
Necklace :: H&M (similar here)

Spring is in the air and if you're looking to add a bit of color to your wardrobe then look no further than cobalt blue. Unlike red, this intense color makes a statement without being brash therefore is a great alternative for those warm Spring days. These deep blues pop against white and are rich and sophisticated with black. Here I paired a silk tunic with faux leather shorts and added a cascade of silver to soften up the look and blend it all in. Purists should embrace it in its most vibrant form, while those who are color-shy can start of with a dainty clutch or sculpted heels. With its cool undertones, cobalt complements every complexion. Have fun and happy Spring!

Style Me Pretty :: Reaccessorize Wedding Attires

Wedding Season
Gucci Ursula Heels (here) || Tobi.com Serendipity dress (here)

Spring is here and that means wedding season has begun. With so many to attend, it gets expensive if you need to buy a new dress each time. Here are some ways to get more wear from one dress. Have at least one simple go-to dress in your closet that you feel comfortable in. You will get more wear from a dress when it is basic and simple in look because they are less identifiable when worn multiple times, especially when you change up what you wear with them. Get more wear out of a dress by buying different types of jewelry, shoes and wraps to change up your look. The key to getting maximum use out of one dress is through your accessories. Switch from gold to silver or diamonds to pearls and you will instantly have a new look. A simple change in jewelry can make a huge difference in the way you look. So before you go out and buy a new dress for your next event try freshening up a dress you already own with new shoes and some exciting new jewelry. Check out FreshTrends, they have a great selection of jewelry, specifically body jewelry that will add glamor to your wedding attire.

Scallops and Prints :: Peter Pilotto for Target

  Blazer :: H&M (similar here)
  Tank :: Peter Pilotto for Target (here)
Trousers :: Peter Pilotto for Target (here
Mary Janes Heels :: Zara (splurge here)
Bracelet :: Jcrew pave link bracelet (here)

Today I expressed my love for prints with this ensemble from the Peter Pilotto for Target collection. Out of all the Target collaborations, I was most excited about this one. His work contains luxurious materials with exceptional prints, so I was curious to see what was in store. Among the Peter Pilotto for Target items this abstract ensemble is the most subtle. To balance out the prints I added a gray blazer with scallop-edged detail for a statement-making contrast. Of the collection, this outfit, this sweater (very soft and pretty!) and this skirt (love the bold print!) are my favorites. Have some fun with your wardrobe and decide how bold you are with the severity of your geometric print this season.
