Scallops and Prints :: Peter Pilotto for Target

  Blazer :: H&M (similar here)
  Tank :: Peter Pilotto for Target (here)
Trousers :: Peter Pilotto for Target (here
Mary Janes Heels :: Zara (splurge here)
Bracelet :: Jcrew pave link bracelet (here)

Today I expressed my love for prints with this ensemble from the Peter Pilotto for Target collection. Out of all the Target collaborations, I was most excited about this one. His work contains luxurious materials with exceptional prints, so I was curious to see what was in store. Among the Peter Pilotto for Target items this abstract ensemble is the most subtle. To balance out the prints I added a gray blazer with scallop-edged detail for a statement-making contrast. Of the collection, this outfit, this sweater (very soft and pretty!) and this skirt (love the bold print!) are my favorites. Have some fun with your wardrobe and decide how bold you are with the severity of your geometric print this season.

Leopard Layers :: Fur Vest & Jean Jacket

Faux Fur Vest :: H&M (similar here)
  Jean Jacket:: Gap (here)
Dress :: Phillip Lim for Target (here
Boots :: Zara (splurge here)
Bag :: Phillip Lim for Target travel bag (here)

The extreme temperature drop in Boston today has put me in an arctic state of mind. One of the things I love doing during the winter is layering my fur vest over or under everything to stay warm as well as create interesting textures. As a layering piece, it’s a practical investment to keep you cozy on those frigid days. As a statement piece, a fur vest adds interest to any outfit with its luxurious texture.  Here I layered my fur vest over a leopard dress to break up the palette and added a jean jacket to blend everything together; this gives the outfit an understated yet chic look. The trick to wearing any fur piece is to avoid looking like Cruella DeVille through a careful balance of color and volume. Add a bit of sparkle to your accessory such as these earrings from Anjolee and you'll feel like the most glamorous girl at the next holiday party!

Out on a Lim :: 3.1 Phillip Lim for Target Part 1

Shorts :: H&M (similar here)
  Top :: Phillip Lim for Target (here)
Heels :: Zara Spat Heel (similar here)
Bag :: Phillip Lim for Target mini satchel with gusset (similar here)

I have to admit, I did not wake up at 6am to line up for the Phillip Lim collaboration with Target. It wasn't that I didn't want to, I just forgot...

In any case, after realizing my mistake a week later I began my search for the coveted bags. My hard work paid off. I was able to get my hands on a few of the bags from the collection. Most notably is the mini satchel with gusset as seen here. This particular bag resembles Phillip Lim's pashli mini satchel the most which costs about $650. Our mini gusset on the other hand was only $35!
The quality of the mini gusset was surprisingly really nice for a Target product. It's sturdy with all functioning hardware and most importantly it comes with a detachable shoulder strap which makes it versatile as well, always a plus!

Did you ladies snag anything during this collaboration?

Going Edgy with Tweed

Sunnies :: Arden B (old)(similar here)
 Jacket, Top, Jeans, Shoes :: Zara (similar here, here, here, here)
Bag :: American Apparel Clutch (buy here)

Tweed is definitely having a moment this Spring and we can't get enough. Known as a high quality fabric with a rich ancestry, tweed received a modern revamp in the 1950's by Coco Chanel thereby making it a must-have fashion investment. From jackets to shorts, tweed is popping up everywhere. Worn the right way, I believe tweed can be sophisticated and fun at the same time. That being said, tweed can easily become unflattering so make sure to find pieces that work for your body. An easy way to make sure you don't end up looking frumpy is by wearing tweed pieces in edgier cuts, like a moto jacket as I've done here. To balance out the outfit I paired it with casual ripped jeans and high Mary Janes to give it an edgier look. The best part about fashion is experimenting. Whether it's a tweed skirt, pant or jacket, they will look amazing with pretty much anything. You just have to find the right fit and style for you. Have fun with it!

Here's some quick snapshots of what's been going on in my life. I welcomed a little golden dragon last December, he is now 6 weeks old. I just can't get enough of his sweet dimples! The Asian culture follow a very strict post labor confinement period therefore I have been stuck at home. Hope to be back in full circle in March with outfit posts, reviews and much more! Meanwhile please connect with me on Instagram @justtututiny, it is so much easier to post comments and send "love."

Have a great Monday!

Splurge vs. Steal :: Givenchy Fold-over Boots

One of the things on my wish list this year was a pair of knee high boots and I was in love with these Givenchy fold-over boots but definitely not for the price at $1,695. So I went on a search for alternative ones and found this beauty from Zara.com on sale for $99.
 I actually like the Zara Spat Heel ones much better. What do you ladies think? Do you prefer the splurge or the steal?
