Exercise your way to perfect skin

We all know that regular exercise can help keep our bodies in top condition, as well as helping to keep us fitting into our favourite party dress, but few are aware that regular gym sessions are essential to top beauty skin care tips. Here are a few ways that your skin will benefit from a work out:

Achieve a healthy glow

Exercising increases your blood circulation [1], helping to bring oxygen and other essential nutrients to your skins surface quicker than usual. This leaves skin looking healthy and glowing whilst leaving you with a post-workout complexion to be proud of.

Banish wrinkles and fine lines

Whilst regular excising helps to keep your body in great shape and often helps you to feel younger and healthier, it can also help skin look and feel more youthful too.

Exercising helps to build up collagen tissue [2], which is vital to keep our skin looking smooth as well as maintaining the skins natural elasticity.  Wrinkles and fine lines are caused when the body loses collagen, therefore exercising on a regular basis can help to keep skin looking more youthful.

Clear your skin

Whilst it may be the least favourite bit about exercising for some, sweating your way through a work out is a great way to clear your skin. Sweating helps to unclog the skins pores, removing any traces of bacteria that could lead to a breakout [3]. Be sure to have a shower straight after your work out, otherwise the sweat will evaporate and leave salt on your skin which will clog your pores up again. It is also important to avoid wearing make-up whilst exercising as this too can clog your pores up when you break into a sweat.

  4. Although people exercise primarily to get healthier, getting better skin seems to be a worthwhile side-effect. Thanks for sharing this.
