I'm guilty of belting basically everything - adding a belt to an outfit can be an incredible way to add style and class to what you are wearing. It is one of those honored accessories that never seems to go out of style. The right belt can make or break an outfit, providing curves where there are none, and adding pop to a drab outfit.
The best thing about belts is how they accentuate your waist. Take this outfit for example, I love how the beige colors of the fur vest and sweater blend together but the material of the sweater was quite chunky. Therefore I cinched it with a gold chain belt to add some color and to give the illusion of a smaller waist. Belts provide curve and definition to your body, and add structure to your outfit, separating the top and bottom areas while helping to highlight your figure.
The addition of a belt is a simple way to tie your entire outfit together. It is such a fun and easy way to update your wardrobe without the expense.

ReplyDeleteI love love your big Gucci hobo ;)
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit, and the belt even adds a play on texture too!
ReplyDeleteI also loving facts about bloggers I follow - I used to work in a large animal barn in undergraduate school because I wanted to be a vet! :)
Yay, you did your set of fours! Thanks, Thu! Oh, I have been hooked on Sex and the City back in its heyday lol And hmm... I haven't seen Go Go Sister yet, I'll go check if they have it on Mysoju. And hotpot sounds like a comforting treat right now since it's starting to cool down over this side of the globe.
ReplyDeleteThanks again for doing this tag post, it's really lovely to learn more about you. Looking lovely in this outfit, by the way. The belt did transform the chunky sweater into a more form-flattering one. And I love the way you set your hair here, love the volume and the soft curls.
Cheers,

Ah! I've always wanted to be a history professor, my go-to rewatch movies are "Age of Innocence"/"Singin in the Rain"/"Corrina Corrina," and my favourite place I've traveled is New Mexico. And I TOTALLY belt EVERYTHING I wear, if you haven't noticed yet! I agree that it makes almost any outfit look ten times classier, more tailored, and more flattering. But sometimes I like something slouchy and oversized just 'cause my hubby thinks it's sexy :D
