After several years of skinny jeans ruling the fashion world, wide leg jeans are making a comeback. Although I definitely don't want to see skinny jeans go, I love mines dearly, I do welcome alternative options.
With so many different shapes, washes and styles; it is easy for every body type to find a perfect pair of wide leg jeans. They look great with a tucked in blouse and belt, or you can wear a casual T-shirt for a more effortless chic look.
I love how they do wonders for my height.
Definitely wear heels, platforms or wedges when you're sporting this look to give you that slim silhouette. Flats will simply not work unless you are already very tall. Add a slim-fitted top to balance out the volume on the bottom or a soft flowy blouse, like I've done here. Without the blazer I can add a belt to cinch the waist to create a hour-glass figure.
My adoration for these jeans comes from my love affair for all things '70s-inspired. I definitely don't think you have to wait until the weather is warmer to try this look out. All you need is a pair of roomy jeans, your favorite chunky heels and a button-down jacket or leather bomber and you are ready to go.
Funny story about this pashmina - I don't know if you ladies watch "Friends" but there was one episode where Rachel's sister, Jill (played by Reese Witherspoon) bought a whole bunch of stuff with her dad's credit card and so when Rachel came to confront her Jill gave all her purchases to Ross. When Rachel asked Ross what he bought, he pulled out a pashmina. Rachel, knowing that it was not his, asked him what it was and he rubbed it on his face and said it was a rug - LOL. It was the funniest thing ever. After watching that episode and laughing over it with hubby, he went out and bought me this pashmina with a note saying "To my lovely wife - hope this "rug" keeps you warm." ;) Have a great weekend ladies!

I looove wide leg jeans! Glad that they are making a comeback :) You paired it perfectly to accentuate your height. Such a cute scarf story. I must have watched that Friends episode a million times! Adore that Mulberry ;)
ReplyDeleteyour husband sounds very sweet! great story. skinny jeans are great for tucking into boots. i definitely have to wear big heels with my wide leg pants or they'd be dragging on the ground.
ReplyDeletei love this look! you're adorable. cute story about the scarf :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteAhhh I'm jealous you have a Mulberry bag. I've been lemming for one along with other things! I agree that wide leg jeans have made a comeback but surprisingly I love wide leg jeans. I think it's because of the fact that you always have to pair it with heels which creates a slimming look!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

yes, prices are too high, thats the reason why I think that I'll not buy any of them, the quality will no so good as to have those prices, don't you think?? just because it says "Versace", but H&M's quality!
ReplyDeletelove your scarf and blazer!!!!! and die for your bag!!
xo
I love wide leg Jean. They reminded me of my high school time.

Thank god wide leg jeans are making a comeback. I'm too chubby to wear skinny jeans... SAD... so I'm so happy I'm not the only one wearing regular jeans. =) I'm learning a lot of fashion tips from your posts. This is great as I have been just reading food blogs.... haha.
ReplyDeleteyour legs look so long in these!
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!

i used to be in love with wide leg jeans, i kinda grew out of it! i should give it a try
ReplyDeleteSince I'm short and stout, it's tough to find jeans period. I rarely wear heels too so it makes my legs look even stubbier if I'm not wearing a pair that sculpts them. I have a love/hate relationship with all denim, but yours look great and I'm crushing on your bag!!!
ReplyDeleteThe jeans are amazing on you!
ReplyDeleteyou love my side bangs? what does "side bangs" mean?
ReplyDeleteAnother great outfit! I love these jeans, I have a few pairs similar to this style from 7 For all Mankind. Since you are petite, you may want to check out their Lexie Line, in the Dojo style, which are the wide legged ones! I loved that Friend's episode, too funny!!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! Great scarf! Greater husband for buying it for you :)
ReplyDeleteI just discovered your blog...and KNEW when I saw the title "Tututiny" that I was going to be addicted :) I'm also very petite, and used to be a ballet dancer before I got married. Your style is just darling--you're absolutely right about wide-leg jeans having a great silhouette when worn with heels and something fitted on top. I just wore mine 30s style with a pussybow top and a little collegiate sweater :)
ReplyDeleteStop by and say hello...Blogger's being goofy and won't let me right now, but I really want to follow your blog. Maybe we can keep in touch!

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad wide leg jeans are back in! Also I love that bag, it's such a classic :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet gesture from your hubby! I haven't worn nor thought about my flared or bootcut jeans for years now. Perhaps, I should dust them off and start wearing them again. The Alexa goes beautifully with your outfit.
ReplyDeleteLove your outfit! I have wide leg pants too :) I'll post it on my next post hihi
ReplyDeleteHey Girl! Those wide leg jeans look great on you. I love how they flair at the end. Great advice on how to wear them too! Definitely with a heel, unless you're 6 ft like me (and even then) and slim on top. I'm laughing at that friends episode and your husband. He is too funny! Have a great weekend and talk to you later. :D

Indeed wide legged jeans are making a comeback, it's such a shame I no longer have my flared jeans anymore (I gave them away since they're like 2 sizes bigger now)... Loved how you styled this, the black fitted blazer and the pink scarf are perfect and yes, high heels are a must! And may I say, you look incredible!

Thu, I really LOVE skinnies. I can't believe it took me so long to get into them. I used to be all for bootlegs or a slight flare, but I don't think I can go back! haha. You're right though-- these jeans are amazing for height! I still have a pair of flares tucked away for when I wear platforms!

I've been so accustomed to skinny jeans as well, but I've added a few flared jeans into the rotation. I really love the different silhouette I get, when I put on a pair of wide legged jeans. Especially when they are high waisted... makes the leg look a bajillion miles long.. and for a shortie like me, it's a always a plus in my book. :)
ReplyDeleteHope you're enjoying the rest of your weekend, hun!

I think this types of jeans is not for all the woman's because it is so much wider. This types of jeans is looking more lousy. It does not suit on all the woman's.
