PFC #14: Holiday Emergency

This month’s Petite Fashion Challenge is hosted by Couture Coco.
The Challenge: You have a pre-booked dinner date on the first day of your holiday but your luggage is delayed. Therefore you must style your travel outfit into a special evening look using whatever you carry in your purse and anything else immediately at hand.
If you ladies remembered, this is what Mini-me and I wore to the airport in this post HERE. As a mother I always carry extra clothing for the family just in case. You never know what might happen when traveling with two young children.
So on that particular trip - these are the accessories that I had with me. I didn't realize it until now but this outfit really gives off a Gothic feel, not that that's a bad thing of course, but I didn't want to go overboard. Thankfully I had the pearl necklace to be used as a bracelet to bring it down a notch. I still can't get over how comfortable this dress is and love the way it drapes!
One thing I didn't have with me was make-up. TSA always make a fuss when you have those liquids, eye lash curlers, foundations, etc. in your carry-on so I put mines in the checked bag. Not a big deal for me since I don't usually wear make-up anyways.

Hope you enjoyed my 3rd PFC. Check out my last one HERE. Thank you Couture Coco for hosting! Be sure to check out the rest of the Petite Fashion Challenge participants listed over at Couture Coco.

Love for Mint :: A Lulus.com Review

Hi everyone! Today I want to introduce you to one of my favorite online boutiques - Lulus.com. If you have never heard of them, they are an online clothing store that offers fashionably hip clothing, shoes and accessories.
One of the items that Lulu*s sent to me for review is this lovely Lucy Love Gabriella Mint Green Dress. This Spring, mint is definitely my color of choice as it makes everything look brighter and more cheerful.
I love how this piece adds a little sixties flair to my wardrobe with it's layered chiffon material and refreshing spruce of mint color. The soft puff sleeves really gives it a pixie-like panache and it even has pockets to give it a modern vibe.
Lulus.com has a huge selection of clothing from a variety of different brands. Their website is always stocking up on  trendy and stylish items so you are sure to find a style that is right for you! Lulu*s has generously offered a discount code for readers of Just Tututiny. Weekend Recharge with Mini-me

Happy Monday! Here are some of my favorite weekend moments:
  1. Not having to do laundry after coming back from our trip because I washed and folded everything before coming back!
  2. Sleeping in until 10am and then spending the day with the kids eating in bed and watching Good Luck Charlie =)
  3. Filling our basket with snacks and ice cream and then heading to the park for a family picnic!
 Hope you had a chance to recharge your batteries this weekend too!

Cobalt Crush

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!
There are a lot of popular colors making an appearance this season but none are quite so bold and vibrant as cobalt blue. It is one of those colors that flatters most skin tones and the brilliant hue is a lovely way to brighten up the lingering gray days and will last into summer.
I've been looking for the perfect cobalt piece to bring along with me on my trip. The piece should be light and compact and transition-able from day to night. This whimsical yet sharp, airy yet structured tunic fit the bill. I love how even though it is simple it has a lot of dramatic movements going on.
Another nice feature of this tunic is that it is see-through in the back so you have the option of wearing it with a black or nude camisole or paired with a favorite swimsuit like I've done here. To mix it up a bit, try pairing cobalt with silver/gunmetal accessories for an edgier urban feel or with lace and pearls for an ultra-feminine look. The possibilities are endless when it comes to this bold and vivid hue!

Spring Vibe :: Floral Prints and Peplum

 Happy Spring everyone!

Sunny days and blossoming flowers are the perfect inspiration for the up and coming floral print trend this season. And with the right silhouette, flower-patterned apparels can give you a sleek and sophisticated look that will be perfect for any occasion.
When it comes to floral apparels, it's important to choose a simple silhouette so that the focus will be on the prints. Therefore to create a stylish and slim look, I paired my floral peplum top with an intricate wide belt and balanced it out with matching color wedges. As long as you keep your accessories to a minimum, you're sure to flourish in your floral ensemble!
Floral prints are a great incarnation of this feminine spring style so whether you choose a print dress, leggings, or a pretty top, there are plenty of opportunities to add some flower power to your spring look!

Postcard :: Daytona Beach FL

Hi everyone!
On the drive back to Savannah we took a detour and stopped into Daytona Beach. Located on Florida's Atlantic coast, the beautiful Daytona has an endless stretch of coarse sand that is hard enough to drive on.
Upon close inspection the sand contained a high percentage of crushed and worn coquina shells that gives it an almost orange appearance. It was amazingly beautiful and feels so nice to walk on!
In keeping with the beauty and vigor of the colorful sand I decided to wear my equally colorful dress to blend in with the astonishingly rich palette of this shoreline.
But after seeing my kids have so much fun in the water I had to change into my bathing suit to join them =)

Destination :: Walt Disney World

Happy Friday everyone! Just a quick post to share some additional vacation trip pictures. We were ambitious and tackled 3 parks in 1 day - Epcot, Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom. It was totally doable since it was a weekday and kids in the area were still in school. My advice to anyone going to Disney World is to bring your own food and drinks - it saves a lot of money since the food in the park is so expensive and you can save time by eating while waiting in line!

Romance :: Blissfully Sheer Dress

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great week so far!
This blissfully sheer dress is absolutely breathtaking. The details are incredible – I particularly love the delicate overlay of bows on the side giving it a whimsical yet glamorous element.
This was actually not my first choice dress for the wedding but I am glad I chose it at the end. The movement of this dress is amazing, the soft overlay tiered design really gives it a romantic flapper vibe.
The best part is - I got it on sale for $10 =)

Mint & Chiffon

Hi everyone!
One thing I love most about summertime is the opportunity to wear neon color apparels. I love pairing iridescent color blouses with abstract skirts during long walks on the beach. Not only are the garments lightweight they also make packing a cinch since they take up little to no space in the suitcase.
Among the many neon color choices, I find that mint is the easiest to work with. It does a great job of brightening up our complexion and pairs incredibly well with a variety of colors.
This gorgeous chiffon skirt was sent to me from YesStyle and is part of their 59th Street Collection. This collection provides a variety of youthful and classic pieces for the corporate woman. I wanted to test the versatility of this skirt and brought it along on my trip. The soft and flowy material was perfect for a breezy walk on the beach. I love subtle pieces that offer a unique construction, it instantaneously transforms a monotonous corporate look into instant chic style!

Postcard :: Clearwater Beach FL

Sorry for being MIA ladies, it is difficult to blog on vacation with slow wifi signals! In any case we are still on vacation so I wanted to share some more photos with you.
We had a choice between Cocoa or Clearwater Beach and we chose the latter. The extra hour on the road was totally worth it! Like many Gulf of Mexico beaches, Clearwater Beach is blessed with silky white sand and clear, warm, turquoise water. We played in the warm sand and chased the water line all day long. When traveling to a warm location, I always make sure to bring at least one stylish swimsuit cover-up. These lightweight garments allow me to transition from the beach to an informal restaurant and provide shelter from the sun as well.

Besides this, swimsuit cover-ups are extremely practical since they delicately camouflage your weak spots, giving you a super chic, soft and feminine look =)
