Earn Your Stripes

Stripe attires are a very strong trend this season. It has been reinvented in sheer fabrics, sophisticated silhouettes and bold colors. From skirts, to dresses to tops, you can wear stripes any way you want.
I love how stripes can enhance our clothes with structure and a hint of architectural complexity. Stripe apparels, aside from being feminine and flirty, offer us the chance to juggle with the proportions of our body in order to create the perfect illusion of a well-toned and hourglass shape. 
 Here I opted for a belted flowly top to hide the tummy and a purple skirt for a splash of color. Of course, the size as well as the positioning of the stripes can determine our overall appearance. Make sure to choose horizontal stripes if you are please with your silhouette and vertical or diagonal stripes if you wish to emphasize only your most flattering curves.
I like to think of stripes as a classic print that can survive any season. Something about stripes just screams Paris to me, all I am missing now is a beret and a baguette and I am good to go =)

    I love stripes. I think I buy too many of them and then never wear them. I'm obsessed with black and white stripes!!! :) You look super chic in this outfit-- especially belting the tunic/top to create that silhouette! I don't have baguettes at the mo, but what if I throw a croissant your way?

    gorgeous you, the outfit, & wherever you are taking those photos! i like the unique shape of your black & white blouse. to me black & white stripes are mod 60's, or punk rock blondie 80's. nice play with the purse, & the purple skirt adds pizzazz.

    My problem with stripes has always been how they make my curves look. I can never really position them the right way so it's really a hit or miss for me.
